Uhm, I think I know now what irritated me about that pic in the first place. If you compare it to the original you referred to ( [link] ) you'll find that it contradicts it in a way. Amélie is not only a completely different type of woman, her expression on the original is very different as well. Where she is dark-haired, your model is blonde, where she smiles innocently and a bit shy, the girl in your picture looks at you ernestly and a bit challenging. I'm not sure, whether you wanted that or you just let it happen when you worked at it - but it's as much contradiction to the original as hommage - and that's what I would name it.
In my description I said "inspired by". It is not necessarily a "homage", or an attempt to copy. The film poster for Amelie was just a source of inspiration, and you'll see it has influenced the coloring in my image.
Yes, the model is different and the expression is very different, but as a work in itself I like it and I think the model looks good.
By the way, I've never seen the image you link to above before, but I do like it and it contains the film poster image that was the inspiration.
Thank you for your detailed comment. I hope my works will irritate you less in the future!
I think you got the word "irritated" wrong. Maybe I should've looked it up - irritation is not neccessarily a negative impression in *my* mother language.
It can mean anything from being impressed, stunned, surprised or perplexed up to confused or - sometimes - annoyed. (You can "be irritated" by something someone says - which would only mean you would take notice of something strange or surprising, but not neccessarily annoying - you can "have irritated skin" which would be more in the way you seem to have understood my comment.)
But in your case it was no negative effect at all I wanted to express by that. It was just a thing about the pic I couldn't put my finger on at once, I had to watch it a few times to find out what made it "different".
For those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.
